I had been intrigued by the coloring technique on this pretty card by Colleen Schaan that is in the current issue of CardMaker magazine in which she includes a tutorial on the technique. I'll need a little more work, but it was fun to try and her directions were easy to follow. Here's a picture of her awesome card which was my inspiration to not only try the technique but use a pumpkin image.

I started by stamping my pumpkin in Stazon Timber Brown. I masked over it before stamping on the fall spray.

ReplyDeletePretty! I really like your Leaf spray and the Thanks! Your dot coloring looks great! I remember my sisters having an art project in school, many years ago, coloring/drawing with just dots. A bit different from what you are doing here but this made me think of that.
ReplyDeleteSaw your card in the SC challenge gallery just now. Very nice! You have quite effectively used this technique. The color variation and inky watercolor look of your leaves is terrific. In school, a century ago (hee), I thoroughly enjoyed drawing pictures using the technique of stippling. One of my still life drawings was juried and not only won a spot at a professional art show, but also won 1st place! I had won awards for my clay sculpted animals and even sold some, but never a drawing. I'll never forget it. It was humbling and exciting. My parents had it framed and I think it might be hanging in my Dad's office after all these yrs. I still use this technique on my cards, but now I use it with color. Til today, I didn't know that Pointillism was stippling, adding color. Good to know. TFS the info and sharing your lovely card! Gabby :)
